GGE have developed a simple Net Zero process. A medium sized business can go through this in just 4 weeks.
You can download the exact Net Zero Report one client used to win a £9.5m contract.
The Process
1. Measure your carbon footprint
In stage 1 of our carbon reduction process, we will either send you a template to use or you can log in to our website portal where you can record the information required for analysis.
This includes logging all of your carbon output over the previous 12 months of company activity; aspects of your business such as manufacturing, transport and travel, energy usage, commuting and waste. Ideally, we’d hope for the actual energy and wider activity overall; however, if you are not sure what that is we can work it out from a cost, distance or usage analysis.
2. Analyse your individual results
In stage 2 of the process, we analyse the information you’ve provided and look at the main drivers of your carbon footprint. Is it air travel? Energy use? Supplier purchases?
By looking at where the main drivers of your carbon footprint are coming from, we can assess the fastest way to help you get to a place of carbon neutrality or even Net Zero. We work to the PAS 2060 Energy Standard if you want to claim carbon neutrality, or the SBTi Net Zero Standard if you want to to set a Net Zero target and then plan towards that target.
3. Your bespoke carbon reduction plan
Your carbon reduction plan is entirely personalised to your organisation.
We take the information gathered and, following detailed analysis, present to you a bespoke plan which when followed will reduce your carbon footprint and put you on the road to Net Zero. This might include suggestions such as changing your supplier of a certain product to one who ships by sea rather than air. Perhaps you could commute by public transport instead of driving. Or it might be as simple as tightening up on your energy usage. We can also conduct a site visit to help you to identify areas for improvement in the workspace.
5. Execute your plan
Once your bespoke plan is created, we can work with you to identify and deliver the best possible ways for your specific organisation to reduce their carbon footprint.
While it is now your job to take action, we will always be on hand to offer advice and support with a quarterly meeting to assess your progress, and telephone support as and when it is needed. You might wish to set up a salary sacrifice bike scheme, or join a carbon-offsetting plan (Go Green Experts can advise on the highest quality ones available so that you know you are getting good value for money and investing in a project that has real worth to the environment). Additional support to set up particular projects such as going solar, will demand an additional fee but can be arranged through Go Green Experts.
